Welcome to the Family: Sweetspot Creative Agency

We spun-off a design agency from our design agency. Here is why

We run a design studio for more than 20 years, and being passionate designers, graphic design was part of our activities almost from the very beginning, although we're initially rooted in industrial design. So why did we eventually decide, to spin off a separate graphic design agency?

We always felt that the different creative design disciplines naturally belong together. Creative processes are a universal practice, and even at a deep expert level thrive on being constantly stimulated by other domains. Combining those design-domains allows mastering more complex projects and increases the design quality throughout all teams.
So running a multidisciplinary "one-stop design shop" sounds like a great idea.

On the other hand, the scopes of our activities - product development here and visual communication there - are actually quite different. And this is where it becomes tricky: The profile of the company washes out if it has to cover different scopes. Especially for the outside (non-designer) world, it becomes hard to understand why we enjoy working in those various fields and how this becomes a benefit and not a disadvantage.

That's why we decided a few years ago to give our graphic design practice its place and name to breathe and express its very own spirit. After thoroughly building a team around our favorite fields of graphic design and polishing the project portfolio, "Sweetspot Creative Agency" is now ready to host all our visual communication activities.

I'd be curious to hear other opinions about this topic! Should design agencies have a core focus or embrace multidisciplinarity?

And of course, I don't want to miss the opportunity to advertise for our new website!
