Concept
During the creative ideation phase we were focussed on developing concepts, that would clearly stand out from existing exhibition booth architecture.
Even when covering small spaces, the booth should express the unique innovative character of Amazon. We achieved this by interpreting iconic elements of Amazon's universe: transportation trolleys, robots, cardboard elements.
We eventually condensed the concepts into the idea of a massive wall made of stacked shipping cartons as the main element of the design.
After verifying this idea with a rough prototype, we combined the wall with pallet-inspired furniture to create our 'logistics aesthetic' booth.
Development
During the development phase, our team focused on three main areas: defining materials and finishes that comply with fair norms without compromising on aesthetics, developing a modular architecture that allows for booths of various sizes, and optimising the construction for a quick assembly/-disassembly process.
The modular system can be used in a variety of configurations reaching from 2m to 6m booth widths.
As the booth will be used in various contexts and multiple times a year, we have carefully optimised the packaging to make assembly easy for staff and ensure it fits into a standard 15-pallet truck.
Production
All elements of the booth construction were custom-manufactured. This gave us full control over the design and guaranteed compliance with the relevant safety standards.
We achieved a realistic appearance of the shipping cartons by printing the typical corrugated cardboard pattern directly onto the construction material.
Final Product Setup
To demonstrate the ease of setting up the modular exhibition booth, we organised a setup-and-dismantle workshop for the project hand-over. The booth has been on tour throughout Germany on fairs and events since then.
